Muckross

Nestled in the middle of the outstanding natural beauty of Killarney National Park, Muckross House, Gardens & Traditional Farms are a must on your visit to Killarney. Overlooking the stunning Lakes of Killarney, Victorian mansion Muckross House features period style rooms portraying the luxury lifestyle of its original nineteenth century landowners, painter Mary Balfour Herbert and her husband Henry Herbert.
During the 1850s the Herberts undertook extensive works in Muckross Gardens in honour of a visit to the house by Queen Victoria, much of which still remains today. Step back in time to Ireland of the 1930s and 40s with a visit to Muckross Traditional Farms, before electricity and when farm labour was carried out using horsepower.

A restaurant-cafe and gift shop are also on the grounds.
